Fireworks: lightingFX

To begin, draw a vector shape on your canvas. This lighting effect works best on rounded objects so draw a circle, oval or a rounded rectangle. In my example I have all three so you can see what it looks like on each object.

2

With your object selected, go to the Properties Inspector and change the fill type to Linear Gradient.

While still in the Properties Inspector, click on the Color Picker next to the menu you just changed. You are now editing your gradient. Change the first color to #FFFFFF and the second color to #999999. Press Enter.

With your object still selected, choose the Pointer Tool and change the gradient so that the light color is in the upper left corner and the dark color in in the lower right corner. Please refer to the screen on the left to see what I’m talking about.
